General FAQs

  • How many people will be on my trip?

Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities without intimidating the locals. On most of our trips, you’ll be part of an intimate group of 12-16 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people. Our Overland trips are in purpose-built vehicles that can carry up to 24 travelers. Group sizes are displayed on each trip’s overview page on our website.

  • Can I just do part of the trip?

Although you won’t be reimbursed for any portion of the trip unused, you can opt to sign off the trip if you need to leave a day or so earlier. If you let us know before travel that you’ll be arriving late or need to leave before the end of the trip, we will notify our team on the ground to best accommodate your requirements.

  • Brian Vokes says:

My mother and I took a much needed trip to Kumarakom for Ayurveda treatment. The setting, people, food, nature was all truly healing and rejuvenating. We will try to visit often and with the entire family!

  • Grant and Kathrine Doherty says:

Hello, our stay at Kumarakom was nothing short of incredible! We fell in love with Kerala, the people, the food. The hotel staff was professional, courteous, accommodating and friendly. The resort itself was outstanding. The only minor thing we had in Aleppy hoseboat. Otherwise, everything was great. We will definitely be visiting again. Incredible memories!

  • Evan Mueller says:

    Not To Miss.!!!
A worth experience, waking up at 6:30 & taking the yoga classes after so long was quite peaceful & relaxing followed by ayurvedic treatment. but was nervous about what the boat would be like but needn’t have been. The boat was lovely with spacious bedrooms all ensuite, air con and large window. Lovely going through the backwaters.
Crew were very nice and helpful but only spoke limited English.

  • Elizabeth Chalmers says:

It was a beautiful experience. Everything is perfect and well organised. The staff is very helpful and kind. A perfect place for people loving nature. Lovely experience at the House Boat and the food was too good.

  • Grace Bitmead says:

Hiii… It was worth visiting the yoga session followed by the foot, hand and head massage with natural oils. For all the 5 days of our stay and in our trip the bonus point was the boat.

  • Allen King says:

We visited in the last week of December 2019… Was truly enthralled by the experience.. we got a bit lucky and were the only couple on boat.. the tour had breathtaking views.. one should definitely experience a houseboat once in a lifetime…
